Tales from the Script (2009)
Directed by Peter Hanson
This is a documentary with screenwriters speaking about the challenges and rewards of their craft.
It could serve to disillusion or inspire those interested in entering the modern film business. There is a lot of talk about the commercial difficulties of getting what the writer originally puts on the page onto the screen in a way that the writer can be proud of. Starting toward the end of the 20th Century, with the enormous increase in the cost of production, it is said to be more difficult than ever to go from idea and page to screen.
A fine documentary with intelligent talk that should be of interest to movie fans.
